Osteria More e Macine is a beloved dining spot situated in La Morra, the highest village in the Barbaresco and Barolo regions. The restaurant offers traditional Piemontese cuisine and an impressive selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Visitors are encouraged to take some time to explore the charming village of La Morra, including a trip to a viewpoint that provides stunning vistas of all the surrounding villages on clear days.
Very friendly space, with the staff speaking English. The highlight was a menu on a blackboard that gets its own chair :) The food was delicious and the portions just about right. Also good wine selection. For the spot and the food quality, the prices are appropriate.

Came highly recommended so … expectations came high as well. So perhaps my rating is impacted by that. Food was at best average. Not bad, but definitely not mind blowing. Far from it. Service was okay but nothing special either. But the reception turned us off the most. No smile, no welcome. Basically a slight underlying level of annoyance and a bit of indifference; we had reservations. Feels like the place doesn’t feel it needs to work that hard anyone because people keep coming. Oh, also most forgot. The wine pairing suggested were again average, rushed, not explained.

Nestled in the heart of the Langhe region, the drive to Osteria More e Macine alone sets the stage for an incredible dining experience, with rolling vineyards and quaint villages unfolding around every turn. The rustic patio, our go-to spot, welcomes you with a relaxed, casual ambiance that’s perfectly complemented by the friendly staff. The atmosphere is lively, fueled by a great selection of local wines that seem to flow endlessly. This time, I opted for the rabbit, which was tender and well-prepared, though I missed the depth of flavor I’d experienced with similar dishes in Umbria. My wife went for the tarjin with fresh truffles, shaved tableside—a culinary ritual that’s always a treat to watch. Each bite was rich and aromatic, showcasing the region’s finest ingredients. Osteria More e Macine is an authentic experience that feels quintessentially Italian and is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the spirit of La Morra. Saluti

We had a brilliant time we enjoyed some of the best food paired with some famous but local wines. We would go here again the price was also quiet reasonable, it not a chic place more basic and local but totally fine.

Food and wines are mainly typical from Piemonte, which is what I was looking for. The menu is presented on a board, which suggests that it's probably changed frequently. The restaurant is open all day, so if you want to eat at 16.00, you can. The food was nice and the staff was polite and efficient.

Service was great, friendly and efficient! The atmosphere is very authentic and menu has lots of variety and high standards. The zucchini flan was delicious as well as the beef tongue! All Presentation of the food was great but the only negatives would be that the meat from the veal wasn’t very tender, the asparagus risotto and the 62 degree egg was a bit bland. Other than that everything was great and the prices were very very reasonable:)

Her directions were invaluable for visiting the area and advising us on where to have dinner. We met her daughter Martina, who was very pleasant and joyful in welcoming us in the morning for breakfast. So many varieties of local and artisanal products, both sweet and savory, finger-licking good! I really appreciated the variety of cheeses and the compote, really good! Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to participate in a tasting at the farm, we would have appreciated it very much. Good quality/price ratio. Thank you for your kindness and availability... never predictable! (Original) Una piacevole scoperta nel cuore delle Langhe. (Translated by Google) The church was built by the will of the Turchini or Blue Brothers, as a votive offering for the fact that La Morra was not touched by the plague. San Rocco is precisely the patron saint from the plague. It had a troubled construction between 1723 and 1750, the year in which it was finished. The design was not fully executed: the body of the building was truncated so as not to block the view of the parish church of San Martino. The facades of the two churches are placed on two orthogonal walls, while the third wall is made up of the town hall. The church has a baroque facade with a fine carved wooden door. The interior, with a single nave that extends into the apse, houses the altarpiece behind the altar with the Virgin and San Rocco and an eighteenth-century view of La Morra by the Painter of Mondovì. The domed vault frescoed by Pietro Paolo Operti of Bra illustrates the glory of San Rocco. It is currently used for artistic exhibitions. Dosio Vigneti is a fantastic winery located in La Morra, Italy. It's known for having the highest vineyards in the Barolo region and offers a great tasting experience of their Arneis, Nebbiolo, and Dolcetto wines. The family-owned winery provides visitors with a wonderful setting to enjoy their wine while also offering tours of the winery and cellar. It's definitely worth a visit for wine enthusiasts looking to explore the unique flavors of this picturesque region.
The best wine tasting experience and overall the best wines we had in Barolo! Carlo was amazing and had a great sense of humor besides also being very knowledgeable about wines. Our fav wines were the Barila blend and of course top was Serradenari..

Lovely experience! We went for the wine tasting and we spend very pleasant couple of hours. The place is beautiful, clean, well organized and able to connect traditions with modern technology. The wines are top (as most of the most known wineries in the area) and with a quite ample variety of grapes and final product. The team is young and very prepared with a good dose of kindness!! Well done team Dosio! Highly recommended. We will have to try the rooms as well when we have a chance :)

We enjoyed the wine tasting a lot. Kudos to Carlotta who was super nice, knowledgeable, and made this experience special. The Dosio wines were incredible and the view from the tasting room was breathtaking. Will definitely come again!

L'Osteria del Vignaiolo is a charming restaurant located in the Piedmont region, offering beautifully presented Piedmontese pasta and meat dishes paired with an impressive selection of regional wines. The rustic-chic venue features a lovely garden, providing a picturesque setting for diners. Guests have raved about the top-notch food, including standout appetizers like veal tartare and pork belly, as well as delectable pasta dishes such as tajarin and green ravioli.
Loved everything! Food, service, nice view, music in the garden. Porcchini risotto and Beef stew in Nebiolo were amazing.

Good food and varied menu. The service is friendly and professional. The food is served a bit too fast. And when the restaurant is full it gets loud and hectic. Not a place for a romantic or relaxing dinner. But overall good value for the money.
Moshix — Google review
We had a beautiful lunch here with friends after a visit to a winery. We did not resist the tasting menu and it was a good idea that allowed us to enjoy different dishes at the same sitting. The risotto with zucchini flower was really delicious. The bunet was a bit too sweet with too much caramel for my liking, but everything else was great.
Serene D — Google review
The food was of excellent quality, typical Piedmontese, flavorful, and not particularly imaginative. The tasting menu was generous for its price. The restaurant was crammed full and as loud as a popular New York City restaurant. It was by far the noisiest restaurant I’ve dined in while living in Europe. The waitstaff were capable but not particularly attentive, and one was flat out rude. As usual, I failed to take pictures after the pasta course. Overall, lunch was fine, though we will not return as there are nearby restaurants that offer a more relaxed ambiance and as good as, or better, fare.

Amidst a sea of outstanding restaurants in the Piedmont region, L’Osteria de Vignaiolo truly stands out. I had a truly memorable experience there. The food was top notch in every way - taste, preparation and presentation. We had 10 different items and every one was excellent. Standout appetizers were the traditional veal tartare (crudo), pork belly and cheese wafer with roasted quail. Our tajarin and green ravioli were excellent pasta dishes. The roast lamb and the duck leg were both delicious. The kitchen does a great job with both traditional and more creative selections on the menu. We really appreciated that variety as menus start to look the same after a week of eating out. A la carte ordering offers quality at very reasonable prices (not tourist prices). That said, the tasting menu is hard to beat. At 45€, you can select any two appetizers, one primi, one secondi and a dessert. It is a lot of food, but it is also a terrific way to experience the variety on the menu. We were delighted to receive an amuse bouche and petit fours to begin and end the meal as well. The wine list is superb as well. As typical in Piedmont, it offers a great representation of the local wines but also throws in plenty of bottles with some age - really appreciated for Barolo and Barbaresco which frequently improve with age. The list hits any budget you may have and offers very reasonable pricing, especially for higher end bottles. They are proud of their wine list and you can look at a close representation on their website. The room is elegantly appointed and offers a high-end atmosphere. Coupled with the seamless friendly service (multiple servers worked together very well to serve every table in the restaurant), the ambience is one that is luxurious and high end without any pretention or stuffiness. You can dress up and won’t be out of place or you can also be more casual and it’s not a problem. Beyond the amuse bouche and petit fours, we were also offered an aperitif. The owner came by and brought a rare bottle of Bartolo Mascarello Chinato for me as an aperitif. He even left the bottle on the table if I wanted more (sadly, by this time, I had eaten and drank enough). Incredible and unexpected display of generosity and hospitality! A truly memorable experience. Make a reservation early especially if you want a weekend table (they are not a secret locally). I wish there were more places in the world like this. Focus on food with the service and ambiance to match, but also incredibly affordable. I would travel back to the area just to eat and drink here again. Don’t miss this!!!

Although the amazing view captured my attention, the food is even more appealing. From starters to main dishes and dessert are delicious. What a lovely trattoria with some guest rooms. Food is great, amazing wine selection from the Piedmont but also well beyond and a charming friendly team owners team bringing ownership and local Italian warmth and character. Had one of the best sweetbread there, excellent pasta dishes, and great starters. Loved the snails!! An opulent cheese platter or a sweet desert to top up the meal. The view over the Barolo hills is spectacular. A real gem in La Morra!!

Probably one of the most stunning views I’ve ever had from a hotel room. Pictures cannot really capture the beautiful scenery this accommodation is surrounded by. The hotel has only four rooms which give the stay a private atmosphere. Valentina and her husband are doing everything to make you have the best possible experience of La Morra and of the rest of the region - great tips for exploring, drinking and dining. But I have to mention their great Osteria as well, as they serve really really good food in their lovely restaurant, so you should definitely try it. We will come back for sure!

This place is what makes Italy such a wonderful place. Lovely hospitality. We arrived a bit late but were warmly welcomed and shown to our rooms. The view takes your breath away. We had dinner at the restaurant (make sure you make a reservation!) and were so glad we only had to stumble upstairs after this feast…. Highlights were the ravioli, the gnocchi (best we ever had) and the rabbit. Accompanied by amazing wines. The next morning breakfast was much better than normally in Italy. Not only sweet cakes, also gorgeous ham and cheese, great locally produced juices and jams and of course great coffee. Will be back here many times.

Bovio Restaurant is an upscale venue offering classic Piedmontese cuisine and a vast selection of wines, all enjoyed with panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards. The restaurant is highly regarded for its high-quality food and splendid service. Guests can expect traditional dishes alongside unique menu items, complemented by an extensive wine list.
Great local traditional place. High quality food. Huge selection of wines (browsing through the wine list is like browsing through Wikipedia). Splendid service. Magnificent view towards Langhe wine yards. Bottom line - a must place to visit! We had veal tonatto with tuna sause (a bit too simple), veal tartar with Parmigiano flakes and dark truffles (delicious), tart of porcini mushrooms on fondue, ravioli stuffed with meat, vegetables and beef sauce (extraordinary!), duck foie gras terrine with figs, red onion jam and ginger (tasty), tagliolini with salsiccia di Bra (delicious), braised veal jowl in Barolo wine sauce (truly delicious), soft egg with mushrooms on Raschera cheese cream/fondue (unnecessary), and 3 typical local deserts, out of which Panna cotta was a true jewel. Not an inexpensive place, yet very good value for money. Very much recommended! Recommend to reserve ahead.

What more is there to say other than that the classics are most obviously classics for a very good reason. The staff is so friendly and down to earth, the food is local and cared for(try the white truffle dishes!) and their wine list is the same size as an old bible😁 I’m definitely coming back here.

La Morra, a beautiful medieval village known for its stunning panoramic views of the Langhe region from its hilltop location (which you can see from this restaurant) where we had lunch plans. One of my step-sister and her husband's favorite spots, Bovio Restaurant. This is where I discovered the Italian culture of courses. Most restaurants insist you order a starter and then a main course; this is the Italian way, and I’m so happy we did, as the food was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the seared calamari and tortellini en brood, which was the owner's grandmother's recipe. For dessert, we shared two tiramisu's, and it was divine!!!

This is a 5 stars! From the moment you arrive to the last sip of coffee or digestive. Food is delicious, well presented and savory! I had the menu degustacion with the best panacotta ever!!! It's a must go!

We had one of our favorite meals of our trip at Bovio. It was a gorgeous sunny day so we opted to sit on the terrace looking out over the valley (if eating inside, definitely ask for a table in the front "view" room. The dishes were all amazing and the wine list was huge (but they were very helpful with it). The menu had a very nice selection of traditional items but also several items we didn't see on other menus which was a nice change. It was truffle season when we were here (amazing) but they also had several great dishes with porcini mushrooms which you don't see in the USA much. Highly recommend and make sure to make a reservation. Numerous people turned away with no reservation and we were here on a Tuesday.

The food and service here was excellent. Will difenetly recommend you go. Classic Italien food, good service and despite the gourmet atmosphere also a good place to bring our baby. The restaurant had a baby chair. Not to forget the restaurant has an amazing view.. you need to book a table.

Amazing food, especially the tagliollini with ragu. Great service, nice views over the Langhe Hills. The restaurant is usually full, so book in advance. Highly recommend it!!!

Very good « bib gourmand » to not miss , beautiful Osteria , really good value for money, in a beautiful building, and great views over the wineyard, just 15 minutes away from Alba. Memorable food over the white truffle season

From the moment you arrive, the views are spectacular, a panorama of rolling hills and vineyards that could melt the coldest heart. The Terrine of guinea fowl and its liver with brioche was a symphony of textures and flavors, a decadent opening act. The Tagliatelle with deer ragout was a revelation, a rich and satisfying dish that showcased the bounty of the region. Then there was the Boned and roasted venison with potatoes and spinach, a masterpiece of simplicity and elegance that celebrated the very best of local produce.

Very nice and well-tasting lunch with a beautiful view of the vines below La Morra. Best lunch we had around Alba. There is variety to the meny, not just the classic dishes. Good wines by the glass.

Returned to Osteria Veglio after some years. Location/view is still amazing and - as always - the food was fantastic. We were not dissapointed at all. Unfortunately the service was not very attentative. The staff seemed very attentative to their regular customers and we thought this was a bit awkward. Prices are fair when comparing to the quality of the food. Remember to book a table in advance (we did it back in February). We will come back next year.

Located just down the hill from the small village of La Morra this little restaurant is a gem. Parking can be a little difficult as it is a popular spot and they have only limited parking located off a driveway that goes down in front of the outdoor patio. The interior is clean and elegant offering a mix of modern and classic style. The patio offers an inspiring territorial view that will keep you mesmerized during your meal. The service is prompt, polite and helpful for non Italian speakers. The menu offers a variety of options from land to sea to field. Our group tried the meat ragu pasta, the spinach/cheese ravioli and the sautéed fish and fish stew. Everything was prepared at a high level allowing the local ingredients to shine through. I will go on record and say the blanched asparagus I had with the fish was THE best I've ever had. The wine list is large and the prices are reasonable. You can't go wrong with a dinner here.

Went with a group of people, sat outside. There’s a small pillow to sit on or to put at your low back. If it was my call, we would’ve sat inside and maybe been a little little bit more comfortable but it’s pretty good, and I enjoyed the dishes I got. I am a fairly picky (mostly) vegetarian so it takes some doing, and there were options for me. My meat eating friends seemed happy with what they got. We had a very leisurely dinner, I think over three hours. I am traveling with a group where the meal is paid for, so I don’t know what to check down in terms of price ranges. I don’t drink, so I am a cheaper date so to speak 🙂

Decor and scenery: ***** up the hill next to the main road, views over piemonte wine fields. The restaurant attracts all sorts, couples, friends and families Food: **** very good dishes, local and typical. We were hoping for something exceptional food though, but did not get that. Service: *** service was not very attentative, decent enough. The staff IS very attentative to their regulars and big spending customers. We thought this to be a bit awkward. Some customers think highly of themselves and allow themselves to park where they cannot park and arrive with a lot of noise. Sufficient parking options around the restaurant. Good for children of any age.
