The Grand Pier in Weston Super Mare is a renowned landmark that offers a classic seaside experience. It features an array of attractions, including indoor rides, arcade games, and a funfair at the end of the pier. Visitors can also enjoy treats like candy floss and ice cream while taking in the scenic views of the sea and beach. The pier's grand pavilion houses various entertainment options, from slot machines to a ghost train called the 'Castle of Doom'.
We really appreciated a visit to this pier down in Weston-super-Mare, which has remained in proper condition decades after its heydays! Entry is cheap at the turnstiles and the pier head looks right out to the sea from the muddy beach, saw it lit up blue on carnival night which felt so special. There is a lot of fun and games here where we decided on the ghost train, loved travelling through the dark with my friend in the carriage and the jump scares were fun!

£2 to enter and then be prepared - if you have kids - to pump endless 2ps into the machines to win assorted tat worth about 30p. But if you like amusements then you've a good selection for when the rain inevitably pours. The pier itself is well maintained and I guess the £2 entry fee goes towards keeping the structure going, so that's something. Provides great views back over WSM and also a photogenic location for sunsets. Worth a visit if you're walking the seafront, which itself has been much improved over recent years.

The Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare is a great place for a fun day out. There’s something for everyone, whether you're visiting with family, friends, or just looking for a bit of seaside nostalgia. The arcade games and rides inside are a big hit with kids and adults alike. There’s a nice mix of classic games and modern attractions, including a small indoor roller coaster and a 4D cinema. The pier also has places to grab a bite to eat, from tasty fish and chips to sweet treats like donuts and ice cream. The views out to sea are lovely, especially on a clear day, and walking along the pier gives you that classic British seaside experience. It’s clean, well-kept, and has a lively, friendly atmosphere. Overall, the Grand Pier is a fun and affordable way to spend a few hours by the sea. A must-visit if you're in Weston-super-Mare! Parking can be found opposite the pier on the main road or in the town. Free motorcycle parking down the main road on the beachfront. Free toilets in the pier, but the pier is £2 each to enter. Well worth it!
Grace P — Google review
There was a £1 entry fee for this pier. There is a large amusement building with some rides and a couple of places for food and drink. The very end of the pier was blocked off, but there were reasonable views from the rest of it - although the sea does go out a long way here, so you may only have sand under most of the pier at times.
Karen B — Google review
A £2 entry fee to the pier, but so worth it, it's had lots of tlc since wr last came and was a pleasure to stroll along admiring the views, the arcade and various at the end was a source of great entertainment for an hour , we had superb weather so all in all a great visit😀

A great afternoon here. Managed to spend the best part of £40 and get something worthwhile with the tickets, so all good . Some great games here. Here is some help for those doing the Dino Egg hunt.

Large hotel Very eccentric with original features Food was lovely Entertainment was not to our liking but others were enjoying it Breakfast had plenty to choose from and catered for large numbers

Thoroughly enjoyed the walk along the peir. I knew little about it and was pleasantly surprised by the arcade centre! Looks so much fun and plenty to do for kids.

Outdoor Activities
Weston Super Mare Beach is a quintessential Victorian English seaside resort with a long stretch of golden sand, mud flats, and a lively town offering an aquarium, museums, theaters, and amusements on the grand pier. Throughout the year, the beach hosts various events like Pro Nationals, Weston Beach Dash, Air Festival, music festivals such as T4 On The Beach and South-West Live.
Lovely long sea front with plenty of parking but arrive early when the sun shines. Great beach for walking the dog. Usual cares and hot food available. It costs a £1 per person to walk on the pier.
Carl O — Google review
Parking is very important. Go early to secure a good parking spot. All the parking lots were full when I arrived on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. If you're lucky, you might find a spot. I had to search for an hour before deciding to park on the street and walk to the beach, which took 25 minutes. The beach was nice, but very crowded. No water and waves. Careful with kids, there are sinking sands everywhere. There were people everywhere. However, you can still find plenty of space to sit, relax, play music, play with kids, or use a boomerang. Just be sure to go early, especially on Sundays during summer. It's obvious that it gets crowded. Also, note that all the toilets require a 30p payment, and I couldn't find a decent, affordable restaurant.
Stennet B — Google review
A nice sandy beach, although when the tide goes out past a certain point it becomes a mud flap and not inviting to paddle in. At near high tide it is much more a proper beach. Seafront is well maintained and generally things feel on the up so the walk along the front is very pleasant and a good place for sunsets.
Kevin K — Google review
Lovely place, lot of interesting things to do and see. Easy access and amazing area if you would like to walk. Absolutely recommended.
Joanna M — Google review
Loverly beach, clean, loads of room, downside is no dogs allowed summer season.
Glyn D — Google review
Love this beach. The tide comes and goes great distances so it always has a fresh feel throughout the day. Some times are great for crabbing and stomping in the wet sand, other times is great for paddling. It's so large that you're never on top of other people.
M — Google review
Clean, lots to see and do on sea front including restaurants, ice cream, toilets (20p a wee), the pier and a nice clean, golden sandy beach. The water was out for miles, and we didn't attempt to find it as it was pure mud towards the damp parts.
C B — Google review
Didn’t get much water due to low level on dry season but had a full day sun, found a free car park on the side road and that little man made pool it was a day saver. Loved it.

Museums
Weston Museum, established in the mid-19th century, is dedicated to preserving the historical memory of Weston-super-Mare and its surroundings. The museum showcases archaeological finds dating back almost 400 million years and presents a succession of historical exhibitions spanning different periods up to the present day.
This was an insightful museum to visit, delving into the economic drivers of Weston-Super-Mare throughout time! One section has old railway signage and talks about how the train connectivity brought more money into the town, a boat is shown separately from its industrial heydays. The former Donkey Chair taxi and a model of Weston in the 1960's are unique additions, shopping history is also delved into as the prominent items are touched on and the town's post-World War 2 period. Tourism's impact is another key point even incorporating outfits here, love the puppet theatre attraction as well!

Visited Weston for a day and saw this on my last few hours. Clara's cottage was my favourite part - seeing how life was illustrated in a home in the 1900s. Very nice doll collection by Peggy Nisbet. Also, more local history about Weston and its development upstairs. I would recommend seeing this museum before you've done anything else, to get a grasp of the history of the area.

This was an intetesting local museum with an eclectic mix of things to see, including a house. It also has a small shop, cafe and events space.

Fantastic museum, beautiful building. Small but really well curated exhibitions with great hands on exhibits for all. Good little cafe and small gift shop with really helpful and informative staff. Go you'll love it.

Lovely little museum with friendly staff. Details the history of weston from prehistoric times to modern day. Also has a cafe and an old fashioned cottage that you can look around for free. Beautiful little gem.
Louise J — Google review
Great place. Open and modern while keeping a traditional feel. They're very patriotic to there town, which I love to see. Staff are friendly. The exabits are nothing mind blowing but for free they are great. Loved the dolls of all the kings and queens.
M — Google review
We went to the museum during the midterm break. It was a little busy but we didn't have to wait. They had some exhibitions going on - Dr Who and a Renactment. It was really informative and the kids (4 year olds) had a great time. They specially liked Clara's Cottage. In the main museum, there were puzzles for them to arrange and a mini movie upstairs. There's also a little reading corner with few toys. It was a fun day out. They got tired so we didn't explore every bit of the museum so we'd be going back.
Zainab O — Google review
Wonderful small museum with lots of information about Weston super Mare. Bright and friendly with lots to see. Don't miss Clara's cottage! Lovely cafe and shop available as well as regular exhibitions (Quentin Blakes artwork at moment). Great museum for old and young. No parking (street parking around at a cost) disabled and pushchair access and customer toilets.

Specialty Museums
The Helicopter Museum, situated in the former Weston-super-mare airport, is a paradise for enthusiasts of aviation and technology. Boasting an impressive collection of over 80 different helicopter models, including both civilian and military variants, it stands as the largest museum of its kind globally. Visitors can embark on guided tours led by knowledgeable experts to gain insight into the operation and piloting protocols of these remarkable aircraft.
The Helicopter Museum is a fantastic place to visit for all ages. It offers an impressive collection of helicopters from various places, each with easy-to-follow information about their history and design. Even if you're not particularly interested in helicopters, the variety and presentation make it an engaging experience. The museum is well-organized, with plenty of space to explore. Parking is easy, and the on-site café and gift shop add to the experience. It's also great to know that tickets are valid for a whole year, making it excellent value for money. Accessibility is well thought out, with good facilities for disabled visitors and conveniently located toilets throughout the building. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an aviation fan, or just looking for something interesting to do—especially on a rainy day—this museum is well worth a visit!

This is a great spot to visit to learn about helicopters. Definitely, kids will enjoy. Apart from enjoying it, we can grab a vast knowledge about helicopters. Great venue for seminars, meeting, product launch as well.as family visit. Coffee and shop available. Spacious parking area also there. Near to Western Super- Mare city centre.

An amazing museum! Fantastic display and information on each machine. Lots of models on display too. Comfortable cafe on site too. I hope to visit again when next in the Somerset area. (I took 111 photos!!)

Lots of helicopters to see, from tiny to huge. Very nice people on hand to help. The cafe offers good value and veggie options. They even give you the answer to the ultimate question;-)

Great museum. Good range of exhibits. Friendly helpful staff and a good cafe. The shop has stuff for kids but no model kits, which was a shame. Parking is good, and it is easy to get to from the M5. Overall, it gives a good perspective of helecopters from their start. Well worth a visit. The entrance cost is fair, and with gift aid, you get extra entry.

Had a great couple of hours here seeing a film star and Royalty. The Wessex gave me flash backs to Fleetlands in Gosport that had one parked outside. A great landmark till H&S got it removed.

Water & Amusement Parks
Nestled in the picturesque Somerset countryside, just a stone's throw from Weston-super-Mare, Puxton Park is an all-weather adventure haven that spans 40 acres of fun and excitement. Open nearly every day of the year, this family-friendly destination offers a plethora of activities to keep visitors entertained regardless of the weather. From adrenaline-pumping playgrounds and challenging assault courses to tranquil boat rides on the lake, there's something for everyone at Puxton Park.
Great family day out with lots to do! We visited in half term with a 2 and 10 year old and both children were kept entertained for the whole day! As well as the countless things for children to do both indoors and out, there was also a children's entertainer playing party games with the children (perhaps a half term bonus). Staff were helpful and friendly particularly the lady who did the meerkat talk and 2 members of staff on high ropes who were very supportive and encouraging of the children who were worried. All activities within the park such as train rides, tractor rides, jeeps, ride on tractors, high wires, animal handling are included in the entry price so there are no 'hidden extras' as with most places nowadays. A lovely family day out with animals and plenty of play areas
Annie D — Google review
Puxton Park is a great day out for the family and is highly recommended. Don't be put off by the fact kids cost more than adults, as it's an awesome place with lots of fun to be had! There are several play parks around site, ranging from a wooden castle, to swings, slides, zip wires, hamster wheel, an assault course and even diggers in sand. The attractions include bumper boats (so much fun - prepare to get wet, even standing in the queue), high ropes and high ropes for toddlers, train rides, tractor rides, crazy golf (which they are due to open a new course for very soon), ride on tractors, pedlows and more. There are plenty of animals to see, and the opportunity to purchase cheese made from their dairy cows on their sister farm through the farm shop. There is a massive soft play including death slides. The wavy slide was manned by staff which was good to see. The cafe seating was fixed which was a little rigid for my liking, but this was the only thing I didn't like of the whole day which is only minor. Toilets were dotted around the park with good distance between them and were all clean and functioning well. There is a large car park with free parking. I would recommend booking online, especially during school holidays as it is a very popular site.
Bex H — Google review
Considering it was a bank holiday and half term, we found our experience rather disappointing and dull. No staff on the crazy golf, look like they have built a new one but that was locked off and the old one, well, no staff, no balls and rather tatty. The coffee at the soft play restaurant was like dishwater. The kids enjoyed the soft play, bumper boats, and the bouncing pillows, which, to be honest, a long way to travel and costly just for that. boating lake open, either. Animal talk was very good. Got to see a touch a boa constrictor, a lizard, and a mouse like creature. The animal handling staff were very knowledgeable and interacted with the children well. The farm shop was amazing. We got there at 1130 and were out of options by 1500. Ended up back in soft play, which, to be honest, could have done that locally. A lot of money for what it is. I had a sandwich, which was £3.50 and a children's meal was about £6. Will not be going again, sadly. Park needs some TLC in places. Staff were very helpful and friendly 🙂

This place is incredible. We took our 2.5 year old and his grandparents and we all had a blast. It’s great value for money and you can easily fill a day without running out of stuff to do. We went in Christmas half term and it wasn’t too busy at all. There were no lines for the amusements and the soft play had plenty of space. There’s pretty much a zoo as well as a farm. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The food was good and a reasonable price. A few reasonably healthy kids meals options and some veggie options. If we lived nearby we’d definitely get a year pass!
Caitlin H — Google review
Absolutely brilliant for kids of all ages. All experiences were well thought out. Staff were fantastic with the kids and very professional. All staff looked happy and interacted with adults and children alike. Food in the play barn was all made to order. The filled rolls were fresh and tasty and the chips were gorgeous. Cafe staff were well versed with regard to allergies. I use a wheeled walker and was able to negotiate everywhere in the park. Toilets were reasonably clean even though it was very busy. I would thoroughly recommend Puxton Park for a fun day out.
Jackey W — Google review
Had a lovely first visit to Puxton Park with my grandson and sister. It was pretty quiet when we went on a weekday and we spent the whole day there as there was so much to do. It was lovely to get so close to the animals (we loved feeding the goats and seeing the calves. The indoor and outdoor play areas are great for all ages! A special shout out to one of the park rangers (Cai) who was working on the dinosaur ride and made my grandson laugh. Cai was welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond to make our visit even more special. We only had drinks at the cafe but the food looked good and the cafe was nice and clean. We will definitely visit again but it was nice to visit outside of the school holidays with a toddler. Lovely day out thank you!

Great day out, Little one enjoyed petting some of the animals and lots of play areas. Would recommend parasols on prams for little ones and hats as there is not much shade whilst walking around. Lots of stuff to play on in soft play area but Cafe in the soft play is not open during the week in-term time, the restaurant is open but difficult to go back and forth.

Greek restaurant
Demetri’s Taverna is a long-established restaurant in Weston-super-Mare, offering an authentic taste of Greece with a local twist. The cozy Greek retreat features wooden beams and stone walls, creating an inviting atmosphere. The menu is filled with mouthwatering delights such as mezze platters, souvlaki, stuffed vine leaves, lemon sole, brill, and slow-cooked lamb dishes like the anixiatikon.
Went in without a booking on a busy Saturday night, and fair play they got us a table within ten minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and despite being busy we had drinks quickly and the food soon followed. The food was proper lovely with portions that left me feeling full but not bursting. Will definitely go back. Cocktails were good too

Yesterday we visiited the restaurant for a date. We ordered starters, mains and desserts. I had Horiatikon, slow cooked lamb with spinach, hallumi and cream. This was one of my top 10 dish in my life! Very delicious, highly recommend! Starters and desserts were also good. My Wife had a fish which was delicious too. Unfortunately, we were waiting for the bill long so I needed to pay at the bar were barman made couple mistakes in our bill. The restaurant was very busy last night so I understand that little mistakes. Overall the restaurant is fantastic!

My favourite restaurant especially with friends. Went on Saturday for a birthday meal, amazing food as always, I had scallops to start & black cod for my main course. Absolutely divine. Need to go back again soon

Well, where to start. Visited here with the other half over the weekend. Decided to go for meals we wouldn’t usually have - I had octopus starter, monkfish main. Absolutely sublime. Mrs had a full sea bass - best fish I have tested in my existence and the owner even gutted it for us even though he was busy! Finished off with a homemade strawberry cheesecake and lovely cocktails. Staff all very attentive and friendly , a real family feel about the place. Cannot recommend this place enough. If I’m ever in the area I will 100% be popping in. Thank you!

We managed to get a table for 2 on Tuesday evening, the restaurant was nearly full which shows how good it is. Food was very nice, service excellent. First time eating here and won’t be the last. Three course meal was delicious, the Sunday lunch was amazing. Dessert was crème brûlée with Cointreau and it was the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. Staff were friendly and the service was great. I can see why booking is recommended. Definitely coming back.

A lovely Friday night dinner! The service was EXCELLENT. It was also lovely to have comfy restaurant seating for once. The food was all lovely. Super fresh. It was nice to see some different takes on British classics. The sausages and bubble & squeak portion could have been a bit bigger though 👀 the sticky toffee pudding was delicious and clearly homemade, but the toffee sauce let it down. The homemade honeycomb was a delicious touch 😍 Highly recommend!

I’m a few weeks late posting this, but we were visiting here from Swindon - admittedly, we usually go for a roast somewhere else but because their kitchen was closed, it opened us up to looking for somewhere new. As one of the group is coeliac, I had messaged about 9 different places and this was the first one to respond and on the same day. From the first point of contact, they were friendly, helpful and accommodating! They were able to adapt the roast to make gluten free. When we got there we were early - we popped our head round the door and asked if we could come in slightly earlier and, of course, it was not an issue! We were served by a magnificent team of ladies and our particular waitress was fantastic - so friendly, great with the kids, funny and nothing was too much trouble! On top of that, I observed as I watched them each go round to every table and chat to every customer. A couple turned up and had a guide dog with them and it was so lovely to see that nobody had an issue with it, in fact, the staff even fussed over the dog & sat and chatted with the couple. I didn’t get names, but the blonde lady who I think was in charge this day, came and chatted with us asked about us, where we were staying, what we had been up to and really made us feel very comfortable. The food… the roast was incredible. The meat was fantastically cooked, the veg was generous and I was honestly stuffed after eating mine. But with it tasting so good, I couldn’t resist ordering dessert! I ate every mouthful - it was that good! They even let me have both ice cream and custard with my dessert! But honestly, I nearly had to be rolled out of the restaurant! As well as this, I noticed they had a recipe for sangria on the wall behind the bar - I asked if it was available to order and they were more than happy to make it up for us! Honestly cannot recommend this place enough and when in Weston, we will return! Thank you to everyone who served us and made this such a fantastic experience!

We will be back minus the balloons and party bags next time 😊

Warm welcome on arrival, staff friendly and attentive, Sunday lunch was fabulous. We had the roast pork and it came with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and a slither of crackling on the plate along with bowls of cauliflower cheese, cauliflower and broccoli, red cabbage and carrots and a gravy boat. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding with honeycombed ice-cream for dessert. All very delicious and we will definitely visit again when back in the area.

I purchased 3 bacon sandwiches and 3 Latte coffees and there was no change out of £30... I can't say I was ripped off as there is clearly a menu with prices, but this is just a nice clean cafe, nothing more.... £30 seems rather expensive to me 😲

Have visited regularly for many years, since the change in ownership has gone downhill. Food was not to usual standards, won’t be dashing back, especially for the prices- seem to have also increased. +£1.50 to add an egg to a breakfast sandwich, which was only in one half of the sandwich as it wasn’t in the middle (cut in half) seems very overpriced New ordering system doesn’t seem to include all menu options either, or the option to remove items

The food is brilliant and well cooked. The staff are friendly and talkative. There is a good menu and it is very popular for lunch on a Sunday so I would book a table well in advance. Very pleasant inside and there is an outside seated area which is great in the warm weather. In the autumn and winter when it is cold the fires are lit and the blankets are brought our for you. Highly recommended for sure for dinner when in Weston Super Mare.

French restaurant in England. The food was amazing. And that is it. The restaurant is really nice, but the tables are too close and too small, so there is not enough space. And it was slow. We waited for the food for almost an hour with no warning. But really tasty food and interesting menu. I would try the outside tables in the summer.

We visited on a busy Saturday evening - service was very good, the right amount of menu choices, good size portions. The children really enjoyed the fish bites. Clean bathrooms, Great location as well - all alround an enjoyable experience. Happy to return and recommend.

Italian restaurant
Il Michelangelo Weston is an upscale restaurant offering standard Italian cuisine, including pasta and seafood. The eatery features patio dining with ocean views and Renaissance-style murals, creating a charming atmosphere. The menu includes award-winning pizza and pasta dishes prepared by native Italian chefs using the finest ingredients.
Visited here yesterday (15.01) for my husbands 30th birthday. The food was incredible. The best Italian food we have had! The risotto was cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional. The waiters when bringing out dessert even sang happy birthday. Small things that make this place sensational. We're already planning on returning for the next birthday!

One of those where everything is excellent. Their prices demand quality and that is what you get. Four of us dined for just under GBP200 and the lamb shank, liver and beef stroganoff were cooked to perfection with accompanying sauces. We shared the starters of bruschetta and mushrooms accompanied by cocktails and beers. The mains were so filling we could not view the dessert menu. Great atmosphere and view out to sea. All servers were Italian and very attentive.

El Michelangelo truly offers the best dining experience in the area! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome, always attentive and reassuring. The food quality was absolutely top-notch—every dish exceeded expectations. I took a chance on the fillet steak, something I usually hesitate to order unless I’m at a dedicated steakhouse, but it was cooked to perfection. The pizza calzone and spaghetti were just as incredible, full of rich flavors and authentic Italian taste. The biggest surprise? It was the first time my son finished his entire plate—a true testament to how good the food is! Highly recommend El Michelangelo for anyone looking for outstanding food and impeccable service. Will definitely be back!

The lobster linguine is a bomb and it’s not on the menu, it’s under today’s catch. Everyone should have a try of their lobster linguine, the lobster is very fresh and the sauce with the pasta was fantastic combination.

Have to say just left this place. OMG the food and service was second to none. The restaurant itself overlooks the sea. This restaurant wouldn’t look out of place in Marbella. It’s decorated to the highest spec. The sun was in my eyes,no problem they lower blinds. The front also has windows that electronically move up and down. Both me and my brother had one of the specials as starters which was a grilled sardines over bread with salad. This was excellent. For mains I had the steak with chips and peppercorn sauce. This has to be the best peppercorn sauce I’ve had. The peppercorn was nice and soft with full of flavour and creamy. My brother had the pasta with salmon which had big chunks of salmon done in a creamy vodka sauce. The staff was very attentive and very smart with black and white with ties and professional. I can see why they have so many good reviews

Always a pleasure when we come here it’s not often but the Staff always treat us with such respect and kindness. Always attentive, polite, and patient. We came to celebrate my dads birthday we was a group of 16 adults plus children and they know exactly how to welcome us, even though it’s a bit pricy but for an Italian restaurant with good quality, and atmosphere you can expect that and it’s definitely worth it. Thankyou to Michelangelo Staff and of course the amazing Leo!

No wonder this place was so busy when we arrived at 6.30pm, there was no spaces available inside. We were quite happy to sit outside & it was worth it. The food was great, staff were helpful with my food allergies and compromised to fit me in. Will come here again.
